A breathtaking setting. Historic vineyards and centennial olive groves seduced and turn our family to become the latest curator of two remarkable pieces of land in the Douro Valley:
Quinta de Ceis and Quinta de Vale do Fojo both in UNESCO World Heritage Sites, in Portugal.
Quinta de Ceis
Quinta de Ceis on the right bank of Douro river, in the heart of the winegrowing region of the Douro, an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Located between Pinhão and Peso da Régua in the northeast of Portugal, birth place of the world’s first demarcated wine region, created in the year 1756 during the reign of D. José I, king of Portugal.
Quinta de Vale do Fojo
Quinta de Vale do Fojo in Upper Douro region, in the municipality of Vila Nova de Foz Coa, another UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This eastern most zone, close to the Spainish border, between Douro and Coa rivers was integrated in the demarcated wine region of Douro in 1907.
At Quinta de Ceis we are working to create a special and perfect experience.
A new building, project by the awarded Pritzker Prize Winner Architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, is on the way, respecting the design of the old terraces of the Douro river Valley.
DOP Wines Douro
Most of our vineyards are over 85 years old.
Since 2016 we are working with the best professionals – viticulture expert Prof. Nuno Magalhães and winemaker Eng. António Ribeiro – to craft unique DOP wines.
Soon we will also have organic wines.
Organic Olive Oil
Quinta de Ceis certified organic olive oil is another passion of our family business. We are working hard to produce exceptional limited editions, protecting our centennial olive trees.
Our pride is in offering extra virgin olive oil in the finest tradition that our ancestors started in 1820.
